Professional Diesel Chemical Intake Carbon Cleaning System
Diesel Intake system cleaning takes a big step forward as we continue to address this issue with our most advanced system to date at Trusted Mechanical Service.

Carbon, soot and many other contaminants become deposited in all engines as a side effect or your vehicles emission system. However this is more prevalent in diesel engines due to the diesel fuel they use. With nearly 30 yearsā experience with diesel engines, we know the problems this can cause. (surging, pore throttle response, economy and rough, smokey running).

How do you fix it without costly strip downs of engine components? With our latest system cleaning services, we remove your engine contaminants built up over time to a level never seen before without removing engine components.
The benefits include Bringing back power, torque, economy and longevity to your vehicleās engine.
Combine this with our pump and injector cleaning system and see even more improvement to your vehicles engine. It will breathe better and deliver better fueling. The results we have been achieving on contaminated engines are truly amazing.
What does the process involve?
Injecting a specially formulate agent through multiple locations of the intake system with the motor running. This process breaks down the carbon build up on the internals of the intake system, turbo inlet and exhaust wheels, EGR, cylinder head and valves. The broken down carbon is now able to pass through the engine and out the tail pipe. On itās way, the agent is still working to clean a blocked cat and even a semi blocked DPF as it exits the tail pipe. This is then followed by an extensive test drive to help the intake air flow remove any trace elements that may still be in the system out the exhaust to finish the cleaning process.
Note: Blocked DPFās are extremely expensive to replace and we also offer a more intense process if needed for this should you have a DPF blockage and engine fault. This is a separate service.

Diesel Fuel System Cleaning
Why do I need to have my diesel fuel system professionally cleaned?
This is a very good question. You may be thinking that the factory fuel filter on your diesel car, off-roader or truck is enough to catch any contaminants circulating through the fuel system and keep it clean. If you have had a look at our āFilter Systemā
page, you will know that this is definitely not the case!
Apart from the usual contaminants that find
their way into your fuel tank, such as fine particulates (dust and dirt, pollen, etc), we also see many systems with water contamination. Whilst this is dangerous to the health of your fuel system and can cause damaging friction and corrosion, there is also another issue related to water.
The Dreaded āDiesel Fuel Bugā
The term āFuel Bugā or āFuel Virusā is used to cover a wide variety of bacterial strains that can find a home in your fuel tank and fuel system. In fact, there are more than 27 different varieties that can enter undetected and lay dormant. Once water enters the system and the correct temperatures are reached, the
bacteria start to multiply, doubling their numbers every twenty minutes. This means that a single bacteria can swell and multiply into 260,000
bacteria in a period of only 6 hours! Given the right conditions, a 10kg mass can grow from a single cell in only 12 hours.
Unfortunately, certain bacteria, once actively reproducing, form a film on fuel system parts and produce some
rather nasty by-products which can attack and corrode metal parts, and are dangerous to both your fuel system and yourself. Due to its reproductive rates, the bacteria can also accumulate in such quantities that it restricts fuel flow through the injection system, resulting in
poor performance and economy, rough running and hard starting.
The Elite Fuel Systems Is The Solution!
The Elite team has worked hard on a solution to help rid your fuel system of not only normal water and particulate contamination, but also bacterial contaminants. The Elite Diesel Injector Cleaning System uses a larger version of the filter used in the Elite Filter System, so you get the same 2 micron filtering ability.
Ā A 1 litre mix of equal parts cleaning chemical and diesel fuel is held in the tank, and pumped through the injector pump with the engine running. The solution passes through the injector pump and returns to the holding tank, being pushed through the 2 micron filter before it repeats the cycle. A small amount is pushed through the injectors, cleaning them of carbon and contaminants as it moves into the combustion chambers. The vehicle will actually run solely on this mix for up to an hour, whilst the chemical solution does itās work. The advantage of this system is that it breaks down, removes and collects contaminants as it cycles the cleaning solution through the injector pump. Competitors cleaning systems work by also allowing the engine to run on the cleaning solution, but the contaminants and deposits are broken down and then pass through the injector pump and injectors, sometimes causing more wear and damage as they exit into the combustion chamber. We want to protect your engine, not cause it more issues!
Customers and mechanics have been amazed at the amount of particulate and bacterial matter filtered from the fuel systems of vehicles by the cleaning system. See the photos below for some of the results:

Diesel Secondary Filtration System
At this stage, you may be asking yourself āWhy do I need to fit an aftermarket filter to my diesel vehicle, when it already has a filter fitted from the factory?ā Good question!
Read on, and you will understand why the Elite Fuel System works hard to offer you the fuel system protection that your vehicle should have had from new.
Elite 2 Micron Filter System
The Elite Fuel System team had the opportunity to fit a filter kit to a customers brand new diesel vehicle. The car had only travelled minimal distance when the kit was fitted. During installation, the factory fuel filter was left in place, with the Elite Fuel Systems filter fitted between the factory fuel filter and the injector pump. The Elite system SHOULD have received clean fuel from the factory filter. Both the Elite team and the customer was surprised to see the state of the filter in the Elite filter system when the vehicle returned after covering 40,000km. See the filter below:

Welcome to the Ultimate in Diesel Filtration!
Quality US-Made Cast Alloy Construction
Elite Fuel Systems use only quality alloy castings for its filter assemblies. This ensures long service life and the ability to withstand the rigours of everyday vehicle use, whether it be normal daily driving, off-roading or commercial use in any application.
Brushless Electric Fuel Pump
The choice of a brushless fuel pump ensures that the system will offer years of reliable service, provide consistent flow and pressure through the filter assembly, and reduce the number of internal items that can wear and cause failure. The pump is incorporated in the filter housing, so the unit is compact and self-contained. The internal filter pump ensures that the standard vehicle transfer pump does not incur the extra load of pushing fuel through the 2 micron filter (it actually takes load off the standard pump), and allows the filter system to be mounted in any convenient position. Many standard fuel pumps will eventually fail when vehicles are fitted with extra filters without this feature.
High Efficiency Filtration
The filter element used in the Elite Filter System has been chosen after extensive bench and field testing. It will filter out 99.9% of particulate and water contaminants down to 2 microns, and has a waterproof coating (meaning that it will continue to filter and will not break down when exposed to water over extended periods). Whilst many other filters appeared promising in the initial stages, continued testing proved that they eventually failed and allowed contaminants through in the long-term test bench system. Whilst testing was carried out to the extreme, surpassing what would normally occur in everyday use, we had to ensure that the filter and pump would be able to cope with any filtration situation that it may encounter to guarantee that only clean fuel would be allowed to pass through to the injector pump. The filter chosen in the system has survived excessive abuse over extended periods and displayed no ill effects, capturing all contaminants and remaining completely intact.
āWater In Fuelā and āBlocked Fuel Systemā Warnings
Whilst the filter used in our system is extremely efficient at stopping contaminants in their tracks, you still need to be aware of when it has done itās job and collected enough problem substances to require attention. To this end, a warning system has been built into each filter assembly. A sensor in the bowl of the filter and a pressure sensor activate a dash mounted warning system to let you know of any potential issuesĀ well before there is any damage to your engine or fuel system.
Self-Venting Drain
The Elite Fuel Systems filter assembly is fitted with a self-venting drain at the base of the fuel bowl. If the āDrain Waterā warning light activates, you simply stop the vehicle, switch off the engine, open the drain valve and the contaminants are removed from the bowl. Simple!
Plug-in Wiring Loom
A high quality hand-made wiring loom is included in the Elite Fuel Systems kit. The loom is quick and easy to fit, and requires no cutting of the original vehicle factory wiring.
Benefits of installing the Elite Fuel Systems filter:
- Prevents injector pump and injector damage by supplying clean fuel at constant pressure from start-up.
- Internal fuel pump delivers improved power and engine smoothness at low rpm by allowing the injection system to work efficiently, and assists the standard vehicle fuel pump.
